Dr. Elyse Bruns is originally from northern WI and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree with high distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 2016. She practiced in Ann Arbor and Flint, MI prior to moving “back home” in 2019. In Michigan, she received extensive training in multifocal contact lenses, glaucoma management, and pediatrics. Her special interests are in the treatment and management of ocular disease, myopia control, and specialty contact lenses. She also enjoys teaching and spends some of her professional time lecturing to various optometric and medical groups. She is a member of the Wisconsin and American Optometric Associations and is also a participant in the InfantSEE program. Dr. Bruns enjoys spending time outdoors, water skiing, downhill skiing, and playing volleyball. She also loves community involvement and spending time with her husband and her yellow lab, Oakley.
